On 11th August, 2022 at 1215 hrs, troops of under South Bengal Frontier, ICP Petrapole, 179 Battalion celebrated Rakshabandhan festival on the Border. People of Bangaon and Petrapole participated in this programme. Local leaders also participated in this programme, mainly Rampada Das (District President), Ashok Kirtonia, MLA Bangaon North, Swapan Majumdar MLA, Bangaon South, Ashim Sarkar, MLA Haringhata etc. The jawans celebrated this festival with gaiety by tying Rakhi to the jawans of each other country.
Shri Tarni Kumar Tiu, Commanding Officer 179 Battalion stated that there is harmony and cordial relations between the Border guarding forces of both the countries and the local people there. He further stated that along with best wishes on Rakshabandhan, Border Security Force is keeping vigil in the Border areas.
