ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS HEROIN NO.4 WORTH RS 79,50,000/- IN VENGHNUAI, ZOKHAWTHAR VILLAGE, CHAMPHAI DISTRICT, MIZORAM AND APPREHENDS ONE INDVIDUAL

In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 159 grams of Heroin No 4 worth Rs 79,50,000/- in general area Venghnuai, Zokhawthar village on 02 Sep 2022.

The operation was carried out by a team of Serchhip Battalion and Zokhawthar Police .On specific information a suspicious lady was spotted moving from Myanmar side to own side of IMB.During spot checking of the suspected lady ten soap cases and one small plastic bottle were recovered,in her rucksack.

Approximate cost of the recovered Heroin No 4 is Rs 79,50,000/-. The seized items and detained lady named Tialduhrem ,age -43 ,D/O Thantlir ,resident of Khawmawi,Myanmar, was handed over to Zokhawthar Police Station, Champhai district, Mizoram on 02 Sep 2022 for further legal proceedings..

Ongoing smuggling of Heroin No 4 is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border. Assam Rifles, rightly christened as the ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have continued their efforts against the smuggling activities in Mizoram.
