National Press Day was celebrated at Margherita India Club on wednesday which was organised by District Tinsukia district Journalists Association in collaboration with Margherita Journalist Association.

At the beginning Anuj Kalita president of Tinsukia district Journalists Association hoisted the flag of followed smriti tarpan by veteran Journalist Arjun Baruah.
An iterative session and lecture on the subject “Challenges on the path of present Journalism” was held on the occasion of National Press Day which was inaugurated by senior journalist Himen Bhattacharya.
Veteran journalist of Margherita Sub division Jagat Changmai was present as keynote speaker.
Rana Jyoti Neog general Secretary of Tinsukia district Journalists Association moderated the whole programme.
Senior Journalist of Assam Tribune Abhijit Khatnia spoke on the present scenario of Journalism of our country.
The event was attended by senior Journalists of Tinsukia district such as Kamal Talukdar,Dinesh Goel, Dr Rishi Das, Manoranjan Das,Umesh Singh,Santanu Goswami,Partha Pratim Goswami, Romoni Buragohain, Hemanta Saikia,Krishna Upadhyay and many more Journalists were present.
The meeting was attended by hundreds of journalists from all the press clubs of Tinsukia, Doomdooma, Kakopathar, Digboi,Sawkhowa, Jagun and Sadiya.
Alll the journalists of the Tinsukia District Journalists Association were presented with a certificate of appreciation and a traditional Assamese phoolam gamosha gomochas the occasion on National Press Day.
Again Margherita Administration(Civil) in collaboration with Margherita Sub divisional Information and Public relations office National Press Day was celebrated at the premises Margherita sub divisional(Civil) where more than 100 journalists from Margherita sub division were present.
At this programme newly appointed Margherita Sub divisional officer Preeti Kumari(IAS) was present as chief guest and welcome every journalists with an tradational assamese phoolam gamosha and token of gift.
