On 28th December, 2022, on the basis of reliable information, troops of ICP Ghojadanga, 153 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, apprehended a Bangladeshi national along with an Indian person. Actually, the jawans on duty observed 02 suspicious people standing near the bike near a closed shop located nearby ICP. When the jawans asked them the reason for standing there, they could not give any satisfactory answer. The jawans immediately brought them to the ICP and started further interrogation.
During interrogation, the Indian person revealed that he had brought his nephew near the Border and wanted to send him across the Border to Bangladesh with the help of a Bangladeshi tout. So they were waiting for the Bangladeshi tout. He further revealed that his nephew is a resident of Bangladesh and he came to India illegally 04 months ago in search of work. Here in Bashirhat, he used to work in a tailoring shop, today he was going back to Bangladesh with his help. But BSF, apprehended both before they could cross the Border. The apprehended persons were identified as Giyasuddin, District South 24 Parganas and Yusuf Billah Emon, District Khulna, respectively.
The apprehended persons and seized articles were handed over to Police Station Bashirhat for further legal action.
Public Relation Officer, South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over his jawans apprehending a Bangladeshi and an Indian person near the Border. He further stated that this is the result of the vigilance and meticulous duty of the BSF jawans. He further stated that South Bengal Frontier, BSF has also deployed Anti Human Trafficking Unit in the Border areas to prevent human trafficking and illegal movement.
