CHIEF OF STAFF, HQ, EASTERN COMMAND, LT.GEN.K K REPSWAL SUPERANNUATES FROM SERVICE TODAY

On 31 Dec 2022, Lt Gen Kamal Kumar Repswal SM, VSM, Chief of Staff HQ Eastern Command superannuates from service after 38 years of remarkable contribution to the organisation. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers on 15 December 1984. The General Officer passed out with the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Sword of Honour is awarded to the Best All Rounder of the entire batch.

Apart from his B.Sc. From National Defence Academy, the General Officer has done his B. Tech from College of Military Engineering, Pune, M. Sc. From Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Master of Management Study in First class with Distinction. The General Officer is an excellent sportsman and a keen golfer.

The General Officer was awarded Sena Medal (Distinguished) for his works as Chief Engineer of Andaman & Nicobar Zone at Portblair where he planned and executed major projs for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. For his exemplary dedication and contribution to the service, the General Officer was awarded with Vishisht Seva Medal during his tenure in Engineer-in-Chief’s Branch at New Delhi.

The General Officer had the honour of Commanding the Bengal Sappers Marching contingent during the Army Day Parade and Republic Day in 1988 where Bengal Sappers were declared the Best Marching Contingent. The General Officer also has the privilege of receiving the Colours on behalf of Bengal Sappers from the President of India in Jan 1989.

On 16 Apr 2021 Lt Gen KK Repswal,  SM, VSM assumed the  appointment of Chief of Staff, HQ Eastern Command. The Gen offr has been instrumental in policy revision in accounts at Comd HQ and the fulcrum for successful completion of a number of key projects.

As the chairman of the Durand Cup Organising Committee since 2021 he has displayed strategic vision and have single handily revived the legacy of Durand Cup. The recognition of the Durand Cup by the Asian Football federation and inclusion in the Annual Football Calendar of All India Football Federation are landmark achievements which will go a long way in promoting football. As the Chairman, Board of Administration for 23 Army Public Schools, his contributions towards providing unmatched quality education besides upgrading the school infrastructure is reflected through the results wherein the Eastern Command Schools are securing first position at National Level amongst Army Schools.

On his last day of service  Lt Gen KK Repswal. SM. VSM laid wreath at Vijay Smarak war memorial to pay respects to the fallen bravehearts. He conveyed best wishes and good luck to all ranks of Eastern Command.
