A deadly gunbattle broke out between Ulfa -I militants and the police at Ledo in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district early on Thursday.
The encounter incident took place at Tikak hills in Ledo near Margherita town. After receiving inputs of a group of Ulfa-I cadres taking shelter there, an operation was launched by the police leading to the fierce gunbattle.
