On 12 Feb 2023, an incident occurred in the area of Border Outpost Madanghat, 35 Battalion BSF, in the district of Murshidabad. A villager named Kalipada Mandal, residing in the village of Nutan Rajapur, was at home with his family when a fire broke out in his house. Quick to respond, BSF jawans, along with other villagers, promptly brought the fire under control. There were no reports of any casualties.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force and acknowledged that if not for the help of the BSF jawans, the outcome could have been much worse.
The commanding officer of 35 Battalion BSF stated that the BSF personnel are always on duty to prevent any form of infiltration and trans-border crimes, and they also stand with the border communities in both good times and bad.
