On 13 February 2023, BSF troops of 141 Battalion, Sector Berhampur under South Bengal Frontier, organized a weapon exhibition and historical tour for school students from the border area of Murshidabad district under the Civic Action Program. The weapon exhibition, held from 1100 hrs to 1600 hrs, was attended by 89 students and 6 teachers from the Higher Secondary School, Sagarpada.
During the exhibition, the students were able to gain information about weapons and interact with the jawans, which they found both informative and enjoyable. Following the exhibition, the students and teachers were taken on a tour of nearby historical buildings including Hazarduari, Katra Masjid, and Katgola, which added to their cultural knowledge and understanding.
The event was highly appreciated by the students and teachers, who expressed their gratitude to the BSF and encouraged them to organize similar programs in the future.
The Commanding Officer of 141 Battalion stated that organizing such programs in the border area serves to instill a sense of pride and nationalism in the youth, while also creating awareness about the important role played by Border security force in safeguarding the country.
