The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended a smuggler and seized a huge quantity of Phensedyl bottles in different incidents on the Indo-Bangladesh Border.
On February 18th, the vigilant troops of Border Outpost Bamanabad, 117 Battalion, under the South Bengal Frontier, apprehended a smuggler with 27 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs. 5,524/- while he was attempting to smuggle them from India to Bangladesh. The apprehended smuggler, along with the seized items, has been handed over to the Raninagar police station for further legal action.
In another incident on the same day, the troops of 112 Battalion BSF raided the vacant house of Nasiruddin Sardar in Swaroopada border village at around 3:30 pm in the presence of village members and other persons based on intelligence received. During the search, four plastic bags containing 370 bottles of Phensedyl worth approximately Rs. 75,965/- were recovered. The seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to the Customs Office in Tentulia.
Furthermore, the troops of Border Out Post Nadirkhana, 70 Battalion BSF, recovered 400 bottles of Phensedyl worth approximately Rs. 82,124/- from their area of responsibility. The seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to the English Police Station for further legal action.
The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier reiterated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to stop all types of smuggling along the India-Bangladesh border.
These seizures demonstrate the effectiveness of the BSF’s efforts to combat smuggling and protect India’s borders. The BSF remains committed to preventing illegal activities and maintaining peace and security along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
