BSF FOILS SMUGGLERS’ PLANS; SEIZED PHENSEDYL ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

BSF jawans from the South Bengal Frontier seized 266 bottles of Phensedyl from smugglers attempting to cross from India to Bangladesh. The estimated value of the seized bottles is Rs. 54,612/-.

On April 24, 2023, while conducting routine checks at the Tarali Border Outpost, 112 Battalion troops chased a motorcycle rider who attempted to cross the check post at high speed. The rider abandoned the bike and fled back towards the Indian village. Upon searching the motorcycle, the jawans found two bundles tied behind the bike containing 259 bottles of Phensedyl.

In another incident, Border Outpost Gobra, 112 Battalion jawans seized seven bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility. The seized items were handed over to the appropriate agencies for further legal action.

The spokesperson of BSF, South Bengal Frontier expressed satisfaction over the jawans’ accomplishment and stated that the Border Security Force is always vigilant in preventing smuggling on the border. They have an efficient team that keeps a close watch on criminal activities in the border area and provides information related to smuggling.
