Counterfeit Notes among Other Material Recovered from Senior NSCN-IM Cadre’s House During Follow Up Operations post Rescue of 6 Civilians by Assam Rifles on NSCN Kidnapping Case.
Continuing with the pursuit of goal of peaceful Nagaland, Assam Rifles launched a follow up operation to search a senior cadre of NSCN(IM)- SS Maj Athong Sangtham resident of Bamunpukhari vill whose name as mastermind was disclosed during questioning of five NSCN IM cadres who were arrested on 28 April.
While Athong managed to flee from his house, following items were recovered and have been handed over to Nagaland Police:-
(i) Cash-40000/-
(ii) Counterfeit Currency 500 x 87 Notes
(iii) 01x Radio set with charger
(iv) 02x Smart Phones
(v) 01xNon multimedia Mobile Phone
(vi) 01x Air Gun Rifle with scope (without number)
(vii) 02x NSCN Flags
(viii) NSCN-IM Documents
(x) Maruti Alto 800 (NL 07 CV 9198)
Operations to nab the mastermind based on leads given during questioning of arrested cadres is under progress.
