The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed every year on 26 June. It is a reminder of the importance of addressing drug abuse and illegal drug trafficking in order to promote a healthy and safe society. The day aims to raise awareness of the global drug problem and encourage international cooperation in combating drug abuse.

In this connection, on June 26, 2023, troops of 112 Battalion took a pledge on “International Day against Drug Abuse” at Haringhata, the headquarters of 112 Battalion of BSF under South Bengal Frontier.

During the program all the participants were informed about drug abuse across the country and the bad effects of drugs on our lives.

A spokesman of BSF, South Bengal Frontier stated that on this day, various organizations, governments, and communities organize events and campaigns to educate people about the dangers of drug abuse, promote prevention and treatment programs, and highlight the need for stricter enforcement of drug laws. These activities often include public rallies, educational workshops, conferences, art competitions, and media campaigns.
