The Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga attend the closing function of Youth 20 Mizoram Meet on Nationalism, Patriotism and Development organised by Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Mizoram at Pachhunga University College Mutipurpose Hall as chief guest today.
In his speech, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga highlighted how the Mizo people had been settled here in Mizoram from time immemorial, how did Mizoram become a part of India and the development of nationalism in Mizoram since independence. He further said that it is the duty of every citizen to keep nationalism in mind but the young generation hold more roles in strengthening nationalism for future perspective of the country. Nationalism is not the idea of hatred to others but the protection and progress of one own’s homeland, culture and traditions. Keeping this assertion in mind we must go forward, prepare Mizoram a well developed state, preserve our invaluable cultures and tradition; and make our state a place where all Mizo ethnics could feel their home that they can live and sleep peacefully.
The guest of honour Robert Romawia Royte, Minister, Sports & Youth Services Department also gave a speech and highlighted initiatives they have been taken under the Youth 20 Mizoram meets. He thank to all stakeholders for the success of meets organised at Aizawl and other district capitals.
The function is chaired by Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, Secretary, Sports & Youth Services. And selected speaker of the closing programme Lalthlamuana, Adviser, MZP, gave his lecture on the topic of the meet.
On the sideline of India’s G-20 presidency tenure, the Youth 20 Mizoram meet on nationalism, patriotism and development programme is organised by Government of Mizoram.
The programme has been inaugurated by the Chief Minister on 14th July this year and fifteen meets were organised across the state subsequently. The closing function of the programme of today event is the sixteenth meet and the last episode of the programme.
