Veteran writer Nirupama Bargohain received Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran writer Nirupama Bargohain was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award on 13th November in Guwahati. The award, bestowed by Purbanchal Prakashan, a prominent publication house in the state, was announced during the 40th foundation day celebration of the publication on 7th November. Unfortunately, due to a physical illness, Bargohain was unable to accept the award on the day it was announced.

The award was presented to her on the morning of 13th November at a ceremony hosted at the residence of distinguished writer Nabin Barua. Barua, in his address, acknowledged Nirupama Bargohain’s steadfast support for Purbanchal Prakash since its inception.
Expressing her emotions, the seasoned writer conveyed her gratitude to the organisers and the audience for the prestigious recognition. Minti Chowdhury, Namrata Datta, Punya Barua, Surbhi Barua, and others presented gifts to the revered author. Arpita Bora Baruah conveyed the vote of thanks on behalf of the publication house.

The event was attended by the author’s son, Pradip Bargohain, and daughter-in-law, Rupa Bargohain, along with Dr Pradip Jyoti Mahanta, Biswadip Baruah, Utpal Datta, and other dignitaries.
