ASSAM RIFLES PROMOTES PEACE THROUGH ‘PEACE TREE’ CAMPAIGN & HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT CHANDEL

Assam Rifles organized a tree plantation drive as part of the ‘Peace Tree’ campaign at Thamalapokpi and Thamlakhuren villages, where a gunfight between security forces and armed miscreants occurred on 8th September.

The event took place at the Ebenezer Prayer House, with troops of Assam Rifles and the local population coming together to plant a total of 60 saplings.

The ‘Peace Tree’ campaign is a vital component of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to restore peace in the sensitive town of Pallel, amidst ongoing ethnic conflicts in Manipur. The initiative underscores the commitment to creating a peaceful environment, promoting unity, and fostering coexistence among diverse communities.

Furthermore at Village Zou Khunou in Churachandpur District, Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on health awareness to ensure a clean and progressive society at village Zou Khunou in Churachandpur district on 13th December.

The said event was organised with an aim to sensitise the inhabitants of border areas with health related issues. The event also focused on the need to isolate youth from anti-social activities and engage them in socially productive work. 18 villagers including 07 men, 08 women and 03 Children attended the said awareness program.
