14th National Voter’s Day was celebrated today at Bhuddha Peace Park in Bomdila

The 14th National Voter’s Day with the theme “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure” was celebrated today at Bhuddha Peace Park in Bomdila township and other Assembly Constituencies of the West Kameng District.

The event began with the welcome address from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Hage Tarung.

The Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer emphasized the importance of National Voters Day stating that the event is not less significant than any national event. “Many times, we criticize the Government’s Programs and Policies but skip participating in the voting process. Our constitution has given special rights of voting irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and economic status, through which we can choose our government. Hence, we all must exercise our Universal Adult Franchise right.”

The voting percentage of Arunachal Pradesh is very good, which clearly indicates that people of Arunachal are well aware of the importance of voting.

The DEO also appealed to the participants to raise awareness and encourage their family members, relatives, villagers, and surroundings to participate in the election process by casting their votes and choose a right leader who has the potential to bring developmental changes in the region.

Resource Person Dr. Alok Kumar highlighted the importance of National Voters Day and narrated the history of voting rights.

New voters were felicitated at the event by distributing their EPIC Cards, and prizes for literary events were also distributed.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were also demonstrated on the occasion.

The Block Level Officer of Urban-A was conferred with the best BLO of the district.
