ASSAM RIFLES HANDED OVER ARSENIC AND IRON REMOVAL RO PLANT TO NEW SAMTAL VILLAGE

Addressing the pressing need for access to safe drinking water in New Samtal Village, a commendable initiative was undertaken under Operation Sadbhavna to install an Arsenic removal RO plant. This significant project aims to provide filtered drinking water not only to the villagers but also to the students of the Government School in New Samtal.

The handing-over ceremony of the RO plant was witnessed by approximately 110 villagers, including community leaders such as the KCA President (Khengjong), Village Secretaries of New Lajang and New Samtal, the Pastor of New Samtal, and Village Chiefs from various neighboring villages. The presence of these community leaders highlighted the collaborative effort to uplift social development in the area.

The event concluded with refreshments for the villagers, fostering a sense of community and celebration. This initiative underscores Assam Rifles’ commitment to holistic development and strengthens the bond between the organization and the local community.

ASSAM RIFLES CONSTRUCTED TOILET FACILITIES AND HANDED OVER TO SUNRISE ENGLISH SCHOOL AT TUITONG VILLAGE UNDER OP SADBHAVNA

Recognizing the dire need for improved sanitation facilities at Sunrise English School in Tuitong Village, a significant project was undertaken to provide basic infrastructure, ensuring a hygienic and conducive environment for the children of the School. The newly constructed toilet block under OP Sadbhavna equipped with essential facilities caters to the essential needs of the students, addressing a pressing requirement in the community.

The inauguration ceremony, witnessed by community elders and approximately 80 villagers, marked a momentous occasion for Tuitong Village. The presence of community members highlighted the collaborative effort to uplift educational facilities in the region.

In addition to the inauguration, the Assam Rifles organized refreshments for the villagers, fostering a sense of community and celebration. This event further strengthened the bond between Security Forces and the local community, showcasing the organization’s commitment to holistic development.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED “DISTRIBUTION OF WATER STORAGE TANKS AND RELIEF MATERIALS” AT RELIEF CAMPS IN MOIRANG, BISHNUPUR DISTRICT (MANIPUR)

The multitude of internally displaced people residing in relief camps in Moirang and surrounding areas due to the ongoing unrest in Manipur are facing many logistical challenges on a daily basis.

Recognising the difficulties faced by the internally displaced people in relief camps and their requirements, Assam Rifles , as part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme for the Financial Year 2023-24, organised distribution of water storage tanks and relief materials at relief camps in Moirang, Bishnupur district, Manipur on 26 February 2024. More than 700 IDPs are presently staying in four relief camps at Moirang and would directly benefit from this assistance and hopefully the items distributed would alleviate the difficulties faced by them considerably.

*ASSAM RIFLES PAYS TRIBUTE TO BRAVEHEART*

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted Wreath Laying Ceremony for Rifleman Bharat Mohan Kukreti who made the supreme sacrifice on 26 Feb 1996 during the fire fight with undergrounds (UGs) at Anatongre (Nagaland) & sustained Gun Shot Wounds thereby succumbing to his injuries in service of the Nation.

Four Officers, 14 JCOs and 87 OR were present for the Wreath Laying Ceremony. The Assam Rifles salute the supreme sacrifice of Rifleman Bharat Mohan Kukreti and paid their respect by laying wreath & according Guard of Honour.
