*ASSAM RIFLES UPGRADED INFRASTRUCTURE OF Students and Staff of Mission Blind School, Heikakokpi, Chandel district, Manipur were devoid of good toilet facility, safe drinking water and bedding since long.
Recognising the requirement of fulfilling basic needs of specially abled students and supporting staff, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) upgraded the infrastructure of Mission Blind School, Heikakokpi, Chandel district, Manipur under Operation Sadbhavana for the year 2023-24.
The special initiative of Assam Rifles was aimed at addressing the major concerns of the inmates of the special school. Under the project, a new toilet block of three toilets was constructed, fifty beds along with mattresses were provided and an RO filter of 250 LPH was installed.
The school is looking after 45 visually impaired students under 25 supporting staff. The provision of basic amenities to upgrade infrastructure of Mission Blind School by Assam Rifles will be a small but crucial step to meet basic requirements of specially abled students and supporting staff.
The Blind School authorities and students expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the unwavering support by the Assam Rifles during challenging times.
