ABHYETI – AN EXHIBITION BY ARMY WIVES OF EASTERN COMMAND

On the occasion of ‘Pohela Baisakh’, Eastern Command Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) is organising an Exhibition cum Sales by Army Wives who are entrepreneurs. The Exhibition involves participation by 21 Indian Army wives who shall exhibit their self made products. These include hand painted sarees, cushion covers, crochet products, embroidery, home decor items, handmade jewellery and paintings at very attractive prices. It will be held on 16 and 17 March at ground floor ‘Nandan’, Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata from 12 Noon to 8:00 PM. *Entry is free for all* .

AWWA is an NGO run by wives of Army personnel. It is an association that works for the welfare of the spouses, children and dependents of Army personnel. Since its inception AWWA has grown in its scope and reach and today it stands proud as one of the largest NGOs in India.

At Kolkata, Eastern Command AWWA, Fort William has been providing a platform for Army Wives through ‘ _Abhyeti_ ‘. This means ‘ _The Rising Sun’_ and is the name given to the series of Exhibition cum Sales held periodically at various locations in Kolkata with participation of ladies from all over the Eastern region.
