Assam Rifles organised a wreath laying ceremony for Havildar/Gd (Late) Madho Singh Mehta of 4 Assam Rifles who gave supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. He laid down his life due to bullet injury in a face-off with insurgents near Yangangpokpi at Imphal, Manipur on 20 March 2005 during Patrolling duties.
Assam Rifles honoured the brave heart by paying homage at War Memorial to his supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation disregarding personal safety.
The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying and a motivational speech was delivered to all ranks narrating the story of the brave heart in the service of nation.
Two Officers, five Junior Commissioned Officers and 39 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreath & according Guard of Honour.
