Shah recalled his visit to Tripura in December 2017, aimed at freeing the people from Communist rule. Now, with the Communist government ousted, the people have placed their trust in PM Narendra Modi, paving the way for development in Tripura.
Shah stated that for many years, the Communists tried their best to erase the name of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya from history. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi immortalized him by naming the Tripura International Airport after him.
Shah further mentioned that two tribal artists, Benichandra Jamatia and Satyaram Reang, were honored with the Padma Awards, symbolizing the increased recognition and respect for the tribal community. The Modi government has for the dignity, security, and comprehensive development of tribal communities, development initiatives have been implemented nationwide, focusing on their integration and well-being.
Amit Shah stated that PM Narendra Modi has worked to elevate the status of tribals. Despite years of Congress and Communist rule, not a single tribal individual was appointed as President. However, for the first time in 75 years of independence,
PM Narendra Modi honored the tribals by appointing Draupadi Murmu as the President of the country.
Shah criticized the previous Communist and Congress governments for their lack of significant development efforts in Tripura during their 10-year tenure, with only ₹40,183 crore allocated. In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has allocated ₹98,000 crore in the past decade, including ₹20,000 crore for infrastructure, ₹17,000 crore for road infrastructure, ₹2,000 crore for railways, and ₹1,000 crore for airports. Shri Shah announced the party’s commitment to expand the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to cover senior citizens above 70 years of age, irrespective of their economic status. Shri Shah highlighted the government’s plans to build an additional 3 crore houses under the PM Awas Yojna.
