As the world commemorates World Malaria Day on 25 April 2024, Assam Rifles reaffirms its dedication for eradicating malaria and ensuring a healthier life for all. Despite significant progress in recent years, millions of people are still at risk and Malaria continues to be a pressing global health challenge, particularly affecting vulnerable populations in tropical and subtropical regions.
Assam Rifles observed World Malaria Day and in alignment with this year’s theme, “Zero Malaria- Draw the line against Malaria,” Assam Rifles underscores the importance of collective action alongwith villagers in combating the preventable disease. Towards this aim Assam Rifles organised cleanliness drive at Sehlon, Old Samtal and Kovang villages of Chandel District to spread the message of maintaining cleanliness as a method to stop the propagation of Malaria spreading mosquitoes. Post the cleanliness drive a lecture on Malaria to include its symptoms, causes & prevention was conducted. The event culminated with an interaction with the villagers over refreshments and tea.
Assam Rifles is committed to supporting health related and disease prevention initiatives for a healthier and better tomorrow.
