The leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Hemant Soren took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time on July 4, 2024.
This comes after the previous Chief Minister, Champai Soren, resigned to pave the way for Hemant Soren’s return to the top post.
Hemant Soren was released from jail on June 28 after the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in a money laundering case, noting that there were “reasons to believe that he was not guilty of the offence”.
Soren’s father Shibu Soren, his mother Rupi Soren, wife Kalpana Soren were also present at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
