In a significant initiative to enhance the environment and promote community engagement, Assam Rifles organised a mass tree plantation drive at Phaikoh and Nampisha villages of Kamjong District. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 120 locals, who joined forces with security personnel to plant 2500 saplings across the region.
The tree plantation drive is part of Assam Rifle’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community involvement. By planting trees, the initiative aims to combat climate change, improve air quality, and provide a greener, healthier environment for future generations.
Assam Rifle has always believed in the power of community collaboration. This drive highlights the importance of engaging young minds in conservation efforts, fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature from an early age. The event also served as an excellent opportunity for the security personnel to interact with the community, strengthening the bond between the force and the citizens they protect.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES MEGA SPORTS MEET UNDER KHENGJOI SUB DIVISION, CHANDEL DISTRICT
Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) hosted a Mega Sports Meet from 2nd August to 10th Aug under Khengjoi Sub-Division, Chandel District, Manipur.
The event aimed to promote sportsmanship during conduct of Olympics to give hope, inspiration and positive change to the villages affected with insurgency.
The event have witnessed overwhelming response from all villages wherein 140 x Men, 70 Women aged from 23 yrs to 40 yrs from eight village teams competed in various sport events viz Football, Carrom, Athletics, Volleyball, and Cricket. In addition 80 School going children ageing form 10 yrs to 18 yrs participated in Athletic events.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the end honouring winners and runners-up. The Mega Sports Meet served as a platform for the participants to showcase their talents, build relationships, Constructive engagement of community and develop a sense of collective identity.
All Village chiefs and Local authorities praised the initiative of Assam Rifles, citing its role in uniting the community and nurturing a collective identity and promoting Sports. The event showcased effective community collaboration and promoted values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
