The 78th Independence Day has been celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Headquarters of the Special Director General (Eastern Command), Border Security Force (BSF), Kolkata. The event was marked by a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony and a grand Guard of Honour.
Ravi Gandhi, ADG (EC), hoisted the National Flag at the Eastern Command premises, followed by an impressive Guard of Honour given by Special Guard. The ceremony was conducted with full decorum, reflecting the spirit of pride and patriotism for the nation.
In his address, Ravi Gandhi, ADG (EC) congratulated the people of India and the BSF fraternity on the occasion of Independence Day. He reassured countrymen “Our border with Bangladesh are secure. The BSF is vigilant and fully prepared round the clock to counter any unforeseen situation along the International Borders with Bangladesh”.
The ADG also acknowledged the valour and relentless efforts of the Seema Praharis and expressed his gratification for performing their duties tirelessly to protect the nation’s sovereignty & security.
On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, 06 BSF brave hearts (included three posthumously) are awarded with *‘Police Medal For Gallantry’* for their dedication and unwavering commitment towards their duty. 05 of them are/were serving on Indo-Bangladesh border.
The Independence Day celebrations concluded with a message of unity, patriotism, and a renewed pledge to uphold the ideals of freedom and democracy, for which countless heroes laid down their lives.
