Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier celebrated 78th Independence Day with a grand ceremony at its Frontier Headquarters Campus at Rajarhat. In the event, the flag was hoisted by Inspector General (IG) Shri Maninder P.S. Pawar, IPS. The National Flag was hoisted with great honour along with Guard of Honour and singing of National Anthem.
Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner at all the Sectors Headquarters, Battalions and Border Out Posts under South Bengal Frontier, where the National Flag was hoisted with great honour at each place. The massive celebrations reflected the united spirit and commitment to the values of the nation.
Since August 13, BSF jawans have been conducting flag rallies and cycle rallies in all border villages under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. These activities are aimed at raising awareness about the importance of Independence Day among the local residents and promoting the spirit of patriotism.
In his address, IG Shri Pawar, IPS emphasized the profound significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. He encouraged the BSF personnel to draw inspiration from the valor and ideals of these historical figures, and urged them to imbibe these principles in their service. He also appreciated the dedication of the BSF personnel who constantly maintain the security of the country despite challenging conditions in remote areas.
The ceremony honored the legacy of India’s freedom struggle and underscored the enduring commitment of the BSF to protect the country.
