In a novel initiative aimed at broadening the horizons of young minds, the Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) successfully organised and completed an educational tour for students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), New Keithelmanbi, Imphal West District, Manipur from 18 August to 23 August 2024. 5 teachers and 40 students participated in the excursion from Imphal to Guwahati, Shillong, Cherrapunji and back during this duration.
The aim of this initiative was to offer students a hands-on learning experience as into the rich cultural and natural heritage of Northeast India.
The event commenced with a formal flag-off ceremony held at the Keithelmanbi Garrison of Assam Rifles. During the trip, students explored historical sites, educational institutions, and cultural landmarks in Guwahati, Shillong, and Cherrapunji. This excursion aimed to deepen understanding of regional history, geography, and culture, while also promoting personal growth and team spirit.
The trip culminated on 23 August 2024 with Flag In ceremony conducted at Keithelmanbi Garrison. During the ceremony students were given warm welcome by Assam Rifles, peer students and school authorities. The students also shared their exciting experiences and newfound knowledge regarding the trip.
The Assam Rifles aims to provide a holistic educational experience to inspire and motivate the students of the region and showcases the Force’s continuous commitment to supporting and enhancing the educational experiences of young learners, equipping them for future challenges and opportunities.
