BWWA EASTERN COMMAND ORGANIZES WELFARE PROGRAM AT HASTINGS SHELTER IN KOLKATA

The BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) of the Eastern Command organized a community welfare program at the Hastings Shelter Area in Kolkata, maintaining its motto of doing welfare activities for betterment of underprivileged. The event was led by Dr. Prema Gandhi, Head of BWWA Eastern Command, and focused on providing essential items to the residents of the shelter home, thus supporting them.
During the program, the BWWA team also distributed cooked hot Food, Clothing items, Ration, and Stationery to the residents, ensuring that their immediate needs are met. Dr. Prema Gandhi, who has consistently been at the forefront of welfare activities for the underprivileged, alongwith other BSF BWWA members undertook the distribution of items to needy people.

A key aspect of the program was its focus on education. Dr. Prema Gandhi and the BWWA members personally engaged with the parents and children and motivated and encouraged them to send their children to school. It was impressed as to how education can play a transformative role in breaking the cycle of poverty and contribute to the social upliftment of the families. School-going children from the shelter homes were also provided with support and motivation, to inspire them to pursue their education.

These commendable efforts by BWWA were widely appreciated by the residents and the larger community. By providing essential resources and promoting education, BWWA Eastern Command is not only addressing the requirement of needy people but also bringing social changes. BWWA members also motivated shelter home to keep cleanliness. Besides, children to be educated and shelter to be developed to meet the present day requirements. In fact, children were also given Gypsy ride which they enjoyed.

This humane and compassionate initiative of BSF BWWA Eastern Command has inspired hope and brought positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children and their families. The shelter home members appreciated the efforts of BWWA.
