MAJOR DRUG BUST IN AGARTALA: ASSAM RIFLES SEIZE MARIJUANA WORTH 10 CRORE

In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Assam Rifles alongwith Customs Dept successfully seized 2286.9 kg of marijuana from general area Bejoynagar, West Tripura district on 22nd February 25.

Acting on a specific intelligence, the joint team executed the operation with efficiency and coordination, striking a significant blow to smuggling networks in the region. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth ₹10.29 crores in international market. The operation also resulted in apprehension of two individuals.The seized contraband and apprehended individuals were handed over to authorities for further legal action.

The successful interdiction is part of the ongoing efforts by Assam Rifles to counter illegal activities along the border areas and ensure national security.

ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERED MARIJUANA WORTH RS 95,000/- FROM SIAHA DISTRICT, MIZORAM; TWO INDIVIDUALS APPREHENDED

In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling of contraband items, *Assam Rifles* recovered *two kg of Marijuana worth ₹95,000/- (Rupees Ninety Five Thousand)* and apprehended two individuals (Mr. Zoremsiama, 23 years old, resident of Council Veng, Lawngtlai, and Mr. Andrew, 30 years old, resident of Bazar Veng, Lawngtlai) from General Area Tuipang, Siaha district, on 22 February 2025.

The operation was carried out based on a specific intelligence and the contraband was found hidden inside the scooty.

The entire consignment, along with apprehended individuals and the vehicle, were handed over to Tuipang Police Station for further legal proceedings.

*ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERED COUNTERFEIT CIGARETTES WORTH RS 42.50 LAKHS FROM MIZORAM,*

Acting on specific intelligence of traffiking of Counterfeit Cigarettes (Gold Flake) in general area Chhungte, Champhai, Assam Rifles and Customs Preventive Force,Champhai launched an Area Domination Patrol towards Ruantlang on 22 February 25. During the operation 1250 cartons of counterfeit cigarettes were found to be dumped and hidden in the jungle. The recovered items have been handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Champhai.

ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERED ILLEGAL ARECA NUTS WORTH RS 26.88 LAKHS FROM MIZORAM

Acting on specific intelligence of movement of Illegal Areca nuts in general area Hmunhmeltha, Champhai, Assam Rifles and Customs Preventive Force,Champhai launched an Area Domination Patrol towards Hmunhmeltha on 22 February 25. During the operation forty eight bags of illegal Areca nuts were found dumped and hidden in the jungle. The recovered items having a cost of Rs 26.88 lakhs has been handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Champhai.
