BSF Inspires Border Youth with Sports and Education Drive under Civic Action Programme

146 Battalion of BSF South Bengal Frontier organized a Civic Action Programme at Border Outpost Charbhadra Base on 10 March 2025 with the primary objective of fostering community development in border areas and promoting health and sports activities among the youth. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Anil Kumar Sinha, DIG, BSF Sector Headquarters Behrampur, in the esteemed presence of the Commandant, Staff Officers, and Jawans of the 146 Battalion. The event also witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Shri Rintu Mandal, village pradhan of Jalangi along with numerous Gram Panchayat members, local school teachers and students, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of community engagement and support.

To promote community and all-round development of youth of the border areas, 146 Battalion of BSF distributed sports and educational items to the students of Kashmahal Primary School, Sitanagar Primary School, Udaynagar Primary School, Jalangi Balika Mahavidyalaya, Chaupara Durlabhpara Vidyalaya, Madhuban High School, Charmeghna Primary School, Chechaniya High School, Kachripara Primary School, Muradpur Primary School, Charbhadra Colony Shiksha Kendra, Rabindranath Rukia Primary School, Meghna Primary School, Jalangi Mahila Samiti and Maa Sada Shishu Shiksha Niketan. Various sports items like football, volleyball, volleyball net, carrom board, chess board, cricket bat, ball, cricket stumps, badminton racket and shuttle cock, badminton net and skipping rope were distributed to the students. Keeping in mind the educational needs of the students stationery items like school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry box, eraser, sharpener, drawing paper, scale and white board were also distributed. The primary objective of the Civic Action Programme was to actively engage youth and students in productive and recreational activities, promoting a spirit of teamwork, discipline, and community involvement.

The BSF Public Relations Officer said that empowering border communities and nurturing youth development are among the top priorities for the organization. He emphasized that such initiatives not only promote physical and mental well-being but also foster a sense of patriotism and discipline among the youth of the border areas.
