The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army successfully organized The Golden Voice of Sikkim – Season 1, which concluded with its grand finale at NBBC Play Group, Tadong, Gangtok.

The event provided a platform for aspiring singers from across Sikkim, including those from remote areas, to showcase their talent. After multiple rounds of competition, eight finalists competed in front of an audience of over 5,000 people, including government officials, musicians, and local residents.

The judging panel, consisting of renowned musicians Remanti Rai, Geeta Sharma, and Rewaj Gurung, evaluated participants on vocal ability, stage presence, and overall performance. Dawkit Lepcha won the competition, with Sonam Bhutia as the first runner-up and Pranita Tamang as the second runner-up. Public participation was a key feature, with a voting system introduced to engage the audience, resulting in over 10,000 votes cast for the finalists.

The event also saw significant involvement from volunteers, with young individuals from Sikkim and other states, including Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Delhi, stepping forward to assist in organizing the event. Additionally, a display of artwork by Ms. Jigna Somiya, along with various artistic contributions from volunteers, added a cultural dimension to the event and encouraged artistic exchange between different communities. The diverse participation of volunteers from different parts of the country highlighted how individuals from various regions can contribute to common initiatives with the support of a national institution like the Army.

Beyond being a singing competition, The Golden Voice of Sikkim was a community engagement effort by the Indian Army, aimed at fostering local talent, strengthening cultural ties, and reinforcing its bond with the people of Sikkim. The initiative has set a benchmark for similar events in the future, encouraging talent recognition and collaboration at a larger scale. The grand finale concluded with the felicitation of winners, judges, and volunteers, marking the successful execution of the event and leaving a lasting impact on the community.
