In alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and its steadfast commitment to youth leadership and nation-building, Headquarters Eastern Command proudly hosted the NCC Best Cadets’ Award Ceremony 2025 at the historic Albert Ekka Auditorium, Vijay Durg, on 06 May 2025.
Presided over by Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, the ceremony honoured the outstanding discipline, dedication, and leadership potential of NCC cadets from the West Bengal & Sikkim and North Eastern Region (NER) Directorates. Cadets from nine states and 106 NCC Tri-Services Units were represented, showcasing the breadth and unity of India’s youth under the NCC banner. Best SD Cadet Trophy was presented to Rupam Baidya and Best SW Trophy to Jyoti Halder of West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate while Runners Up Medals went to Cadet Bhawana Thapa of Meghalaya State and Cadet Veerjyoti Sharma of Assam State (SW) of NER Directorate.
In an inspiring address to the gathering, the Army Commander lauded the transformative role of the NCC in shaping the nation’s future, highlighting the cadets’ stellar training, unwavering passion, and deep-rooted commitment to nation-building and community service. He encouraged cadets to embody sound values, cultivate a positive mindset, and carry forward the ethos of selfless service and leadership.
The event was elevated by a series of captivating cultural performances and a dynamic acrobatic display by the cadets, vividly reflecting the diversity, creativity, and enthusiasm of India’s young citizens.These performances echoed the rich cultural heritage and the indomitable spirit that defines the NCC.
This prestigious ceremony served to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of exemplary cadets from the Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) cadets across the tri-services. It reaffirmed the Indian Army’s resolute support for the National Cadet Corps as a cornerstone of youth development, leadership training, and national integration.
Attended by senior military officials, dignitaries, and proud cadets, the programme stood as a testament to the enduring partnership between the Armed Forces and the NCC. With meticulous planning and patriotic fervour, Eastern Command salutes the spirit, service, and potential of India’s youth, our cadets, our future.
