In its continued effort to contribute towards environmental conservation and promote a greener planet, BSF Meghalaya organized a plantation drive on 05 June 2025 by planting 6716 saplings across the AOR of this Frontier to mark the occasion of World Environment Day.
The drive was led by O.P. Upadhyay, Inspector General, BSF Meghalaya, who inaugurated the initiative by planting saplings within the campus. Officers and all ranks enthusiastically participated in the event, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability and the Force’s responsibility towards ecological well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, IG O.P. Upadhyay emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship and the vital role every individual plays in preserving nature for future generations. He urged all personnel to actively contribute to afforestation efforts and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
BSF Meghalaya Frontier continues to take proactive steps in alignment with national environmental goals, reflecting its motto, “ Duty Unto Death” ,not only in securing the borders but also in safeguarding the environment.
