In this operation, BSF Jawans recovered 4 pieces of Gold hidden for the purpose of smuggling near the India-Bangladesh International Border. The total weight of the recovered Gold is 439.23 grams and the estimated price is ₹44,40,615/-.

According to the information received, the troops of the border outpost Baijnathpur of the 11th battalion of the BSF located in Nadia district had received a reliable and secret information about the Gold hidden for the purpose of smuggling in the area of ​​the border outpost yesterday morning. BSF troops took immediate action and launched a comprehensive search operation in the possible area. In this hours-long search operation, after considerable effort, the jawans succeeded in recovering a suspicious black packet hidden in the bushes, approximately 50 meters from the India-Bangladesh international border. Inside the packet, 4 Gold pieces of varying sizes were found, which were immediately seized and brought to the border outpost for further necessary action.

The total weight of the seized Gold is 439.23 grams, whose estimated market price is ₹ 44,40,615 / -. The recovered Gold has been handed over to the concerned department for further action.

It is worth noting that due to the strong intelligence system and quick action of the BSF, this smuggling attempt was foiled in time. Although, the smugglers involved in this smuggling attempt have not been identified yet, but BSF is seriously investigating the matter.

Confirming the incident of Gold smuggling, the Public Relations Officer of BSF South Bengal Frontier said that the BSF is keeping a strict vigil on all types of illegal activities on the Indo-Bangladesh border through its intelligence network and vigilant Jawans. Appropriate reward will be provided for giving reliable information and the identity of the informer will be kept completely confidential.
