ASSAM RIFLES OBSERVES CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles conducted an extensive cleanliness drive at Sehlon, Aibol Joupi and Old Samtal village as part of the nationwide Swachhata Pakhwada initiative. The initiative emphasised the importance of cleanliness, and hygiene in our surrounding among the local community.

The events conducted under this initiative included cleanliness drives at Assam Rifles camp as well as outside the camp. The drive aimed to instill a sense of responsibility toward community, importance of proper sanitation, waste management and good hygiene. Locals actively participated in the event showcasing appreciation to the initiative.

The local community highly appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles, acknowledging the event as a meaningful initiative towards a clean and healthy environment.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED ANTI- DRUG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN MANIPUR

In order to create awareness amongst the local populace regarding the ill effects of drug abuse, Assam Rifles organised Anti -Drug Awareness Campaign at Meiring village in Kamjong district of Manipur.

As part of the people friendly initiatives of Assam Rifles, an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign was organised jointly by the village authorities of Meiring village and Assam Rifles personnel.

32 locals from Meiring village including 04 representatives of the village authority had attended the Campaign. During the event, a focused effort was made to raise awareness among attendees about the severe and far-reaching consequences of drug abuse. The significance of fostering a drug-free society for the well-being of future generations was emphasized. Additionally, they were guided through a range of strategies to combat drug addiction, including professional treatment options, counseling services, support groups and the role of self-determination and community support in the recovery process.

The session aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize and address the signs of addiction, inspire proactive measures, and encourage them to contribute to creating a healthier, addiction-free society. The event culminated with a pledge by all the attendees to stay away from the scourge of Drug abuse. They also assured that they would motivate their youth to stay away from this bane of the society.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES EX-SERVICEMEN MEET

Assam Rifles organized an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) meet at the Pallel Garrison, Kakching District.

The event served as an opportunity for veterans to reconnect, share their experiences, and discuss various welfare issues.

The gathering highlighted the importance of maintaining strong ties within the Ex-Servicemen community, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual support. Senior officials from Assam Rifles were present to address the concerns of the ESMs and ensure continued assistance for their well-being. This meet also provided a platform to discuss future initiatives and resources available for the veterans.

ASSAM RIFLES HONOURS MARTYR RIFLEMAN RAKESH SINGH

Assam Rifles paid tribute to the indomitable spirit of Rifleman Rakesh Singh made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on this very day in 2001 in Manipur. A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held in Modi, Chandel District to honour the martyr. Over 100 Assam Rifles personnel attended the ceremony.
