Acting on specific intelligence of movement of cadres along National Highway 102 towards Phayeng in Imphal West district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) near Tentha. The troops observed upon interception and on-the-spot suspicious movement of two personnel and intercepted them. On questioning them, they admitted their allegiance to proscribed organisation PREPAK (PRO). A mobile handset was also recovered from them. The apprehended individuals and recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigations.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES ILLEGAL LIQUOR IN KAKCHING DISTRICT
On 29 January 2025, Assam Rifles seized 96 bottles of Whisky and 12 bottles of Rum from a Mahindra Scorpio at the Forest Gate Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP), Kakching District.
The seized liquor, valued at approximately ₹20,000, was confiscated for further investigation.
The recovered items, along with the accused and the vehicle, were handed over to Pallel Excise Station.
