Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman interacts with women Self Help Groups (SHG) members trained in handicrafts under Micro-Enterprise Development Programme of NABARD at Killa village in Gomati district in Tripura on Saturday.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and MLA Rampada Jamatia were also present with her.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said, through Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, during the lockdown last year, the government could transfer Rs 1,500 directly to the accounts of women.
During her visit, Sitharaman also offered puja at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Matabari Udaypur.
