Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited Tamulpur in Baksa district and took stock of progress of several developmental projects.
The Chief Minister inspected the proposed construction site of second bridge over river Pagladia at Kharanie. The State government has already made budget allocation for this bridge under Asom Mala project and construction works for this 1.5 km long bridge is expected to start in next 6-7 months.
The Chief Minister today also inspected the progress of under construction bridge over river Pagladia at Jartaluk. Chief Minister Dr Sarma laid foundation stone for construction of the bridge after the last BTC election. The bridge is expected to be complete by the end of next year. Once completed, this bridge will connect a part of Barama LAC with Tamulpur facilitating smooth movement from Barama and Mushalpur to Udalguri.
Chief Minister Sarma also visited the proposed Tamulpur Medical College site at Kachubari and inspected the site. While preliminary works are underway, construction is expected to start within this financial year. BTR Chief Pramod Bodo accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit. While Handloom & Textiles Minister UG Brahma was present during the Chief Minister’s visit to proposed construction site at Kharanie, MLA Bhupen Bodo was present at Jartaluk.
