N.F. Railway registers 19.10% growth in Freight Unloading unloads 1211 rakes during February, 2022

Northeast Frontier Railway has unloaded 1211 freight carrying trains in February, 2022. N. F. Railway carried 12408 rakes of freight trains from April, 2021 to February, 2022 as against 10419 rakes during the corresponding period of last year thus showing an increase of 19.10%.

N. F. Railway has transported goods like FCI rice, sugar, potato, salt, edible oil, POL, food grains, fertilizer, cement, stone chips, iron steel, coal, maize, auto, container and other items during the month and unloaded them in different goods sheds in its jurisdiction during this period.

During February, 2022, 625 rakes of freight carrying trains were unloaded in Assam out of which 333 were loaded with essential commodities. 132 rakes in Tripura, 25 rakes in Nagaland, 4 rakes in Manipur, 6 rakes in Arunachal Pradesh and 5 rakes in Mizoram were unloaded during the month. 229 freight rakes in West Bengal and 185 freight rakes in Bihar were also unloaded during the month within the jurisdiction of N. F. Railway.

Essential and other commodities are being transported regularly to not only meet the essential requirement of common people but also to keep the local economic activity of the region moving.

Improved terminal handling facility and improvement in mobility due to enhanced maintenance efforts & continuous monitoring at all level resulted in reduction in turnaround time and increased unloading.
