BSF APPREHENDED AN INDIAN SMUGGLER WITH PHENSEDYL ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On March 15, 2022, the troops of Border Out Post Meghna, 141 Battalion under Sector Headquarters Behrampur, South Bengal Frontier apprehended a smuggler with Phensedyl on Indo-Bangladesh Border.

On March 15, 2022, at around 0130 hrs, the troops of the Border Out Post Meghna, 141 Battalion, while taking action, apprehended an Indian smuggler. The smuggler was trying to smuggle Phensedyl from India to Bangladesh from the area of ​​​​the Border Out Post Meghna. The jawans noticed suspicious activity in the area of ​​their responsibility. Taking immediate action, the jawans surrounded the smuggler with an ambush and apprehended him. After a thorough search of the area, 770 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered. The estimated cost of seized Phensedyl is Rs.1,43,721/-.

On interrogation, the apprehended smuggler identified as Jayalal Mandal, S/o- Wahid Mandal, Village- Ayadanga, Thana- Hoogalberia, District- Nadia.

The apprehended smuggler revealed that he had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Lalu Mandal, Village- Ayadanga, PS-Hugalberia. After crossing the BSF duty line, he was about to hand over these bottles of Phensedyl to Sohan, Village – Jamalpur, Thana – Daulatpur, District – Kushtia.

Apprehended smugglers and seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to Hoogalberia Police Station for further legal action.

Nagendra Singh Rautela, Commanding Officer, 141 Battalion while encouraging his jawans, stated that it shows the hard work and alertness of our jawans. Our jawans are committed to stop all forms of smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
