BSF apprehended a Bangladeshi national with Tout on Border

Border Security Force troops under South Bengal Frontier apprehended a Bangladeshi woman crossing the border with an Indian tout on the Border who were trying to cross the International Boundary from Bangladesh to India through the Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, North 24 Parganas district area.

On 16 March 2022 at around 1930 hrs, based on intelligence input, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, during duty observed the movement of 02 persons who were trying to come to India from Bangladesh. Border Security Force jawan chased them and apprehended them. The apprehended persons have been identified as 1) Josna Khatoon (38), W/o Late Amirul Morole, Village Marchenya, PS– Jigargacha, District – Jessore, Bangladesh,
2) Riyaz Ghazi (18) (tout), s/o- Mintu Ghazi, Village- Hakimpur, Thana- Swaroopnagar, District- North 24 Parganas.

During preliminary interrogation, Josna Khatoon revealed that she is a citizen of Bangladesh. The woman revealed that she had come to India in the year 2000 by crossing the IB illegally with her husband. After coming to India, they moved to Kalyan, Mumbai Bhim Mandi, Kalyan, Mumbai) and started working there, she revealed that her husband died in 2001 and she has a daughter named Anju (23) in Bangladesh. She revealed that in 2020 she had gone to Bangladesh to meet her girl and on 16 March 2022 she was trying to come to India for which she was taking the help of an Indian tout Riyaz Ghazi for which she gave Rs 10,000/- to Riyaz.

Tout (Riaz Gazi) released 15 days ago, from jail in the Phensedyl case.
During preliminary interrogation, Riyaz Ghazi revealed that he is an Indian national and works as a tout and also does petty smuggling. He further revealed that he has been released from the Jail 15 days ago, from the case of Phensedyl. He revelaed that on March 16, 2022, a woman Josna Khatoon talked to him about crossing the IB from Bangladesh to India. Then he took the woman from the banks of the Sonai river and was helping her to cross the International Boundary but was apprehended by the Border Security Force troops.

Both the apprehended persons have been handed over to the Police Station Swarup Nagar for further legal action.

Shri Chandrashekhar, Officiating Commanding Officer expressed happiness over the achievement of the 112 Battalion troops. In which the troops apprehended an Indian tout with a Bangladeshi national. He sttated hat this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his troops on duty. He further added that his troops are fully committed to stop smuggling.
