Three Bangladeshi including mother and son apprehended at Bangladesh border, handed over to BGB as humanity and goodwill

The Border Security Force detained the mother, son and another Bangladeshi while illegally crossing the International Boundary in the border area of ​​North 24 Parganas.

On the morning of March 18, 2022, at around 0530 hrs, on the basis of specific information, the jawans of Adhoc VII Battalion Border Out Post Jeetpur and Ranghat apprehended a total of three people while crossing the IB illegally. In which Ashma Begum (42) and her five-year-old son Islam Qazi were apprehended by the Border Out Post Ranghat, who are residents of Sabhujbagh village in Khulna district. Kamrujman (25), a resident of South Bagmara village of Komulia district, was apprehended by Border Out Post Jeetpur.

During interrogation, Ashma Begum revealed that she had come to India about 20 years ago and used to work as a maid in Begur, Bangalore, during which time she married a young man named Salman Qazi, a resident of Kolkata. She further revealed that she was going back to Bangladesh to meet her mother. Apprehended Kamrujman revealed that he was going in search of work to the city of Delhi in India where his cousin already lives.

The apprehended persons have been handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh as a gesture of humanity and goodwill.

Om Prakash Sharma, Commanding Officer of Adhoc VII Battlion informed that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to stop illegal movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Also, in view of the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals, some people are being handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the border security forces of both the countries.
