SMUGGLER RELEASED ON BAIL WAS APPREHENDED RED HANDED BY BSF WHILE SMUGGLING

On the morning of March 26, 2022, at about 0440 hrs, troops of Border Out Post Ramnagar of 08 Battalion acting on the basis of specific information apprehended a person red handed and seized two cattle and 49 bottles of Phensedyl from his possession. Apprehended person is a resident of Ramnagar a border village in West Bengal’s Nadia district, whose name is Jasim Mandal, (30) and he is the son of Rahul Amin Mandal.

During investigation, Jasim Mandal revealed that he had brought two cattle and 49 bottles of Phensedyl along with his companion Haider (village Chhoti Chupadia) and was going to hand over Radhe Mandal, Saheen Mandal and Kabir, residents of Bangladesh near the International boundary. He further revealed that he has been involved in trance-border crimes for a long time and works with Haider, Kodar Dafadar, a resident of Umarpur village as well as his associates Jehangir and Subhash Mandal from Bangladesh side.

BSF has already been apprehended, as soon as he got bail, he became involved in smuggling again.Jasim Mandal further revealed that in May 2021 he was apprehended by the BSF during the smuggling of Yaba and Phensedyl and came out on bail from the court and again got involved in the smuggling.

Apprehended person has been handed over to the Police Station Hanskhali along with the seized items for further legal action.

H S Luwang, Commanding Officer, 08 Battalion stated that BSF along the Indo-Bangladesh border is taking stringent measures to stop smuggling. Consequently, people involved in such crimes are being caught and are being dealt as per law of the land.
