BSF seized silver jewelery and sarees during a search operation on Indo-Bangladesh Border

Border Security Force, under the South Bengal Frontier, during a search operation in their border area, seized 7.450 kg of silver jewelery and 60 sareess, whose total value is estimated at Rs 3,94,218/-. Smugglers were trying to smuggle all these phensedyl from India to Bangladesh.

On May 25, 2022 at around 0145 hrs, based on specific information, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, conducted a search operation in the area mentioned on the specific information, in which Border Security Force troops searched the area around the house of the person Bablu Molla (S/o Gopal Molla, village Hakimpur, North 24 Parganas) and during the searched of an empty mud house near of Bablu Molla’s house, recovered 7.450 kg of silver jewelery and 60 sarees.

The seized items have been handed over to Customs Office Tentulia.

Narayan Chand, Commanding Officer, 112th Corps expressed happiness over the achievement of the jawans, in which they have foiled smuggling attempts. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that his jawans are keeping an close eye on every movement of the smugglers. They will not allow smugglers to succeed in any nefarious intentions.
