On 14/15 June, 2022, under South Bengal Frontier Headquarters, vigilant troops of 68 Battalion BSF apprehended 4 Bangladeshi nationals while illegally crossing the International Boundary whose identity is 1. Ruba Khatoon (43), District – Jessore (Bangladesh),
- Gauri Biswas (50), District – Gopalganj (Bangladesh)
- Samrat Roy (18) District – Gopalganj (Bangladesh)
- Mohammad Naeem (16), District – Khulna, Bangladesh.
On enquiry, everyone revealed that they had come to India at different times and used to work for a living in cities like Habra, Bangaon (District-North 24 Parganas), Pune, Bangalore etc. Today all of them were rolling back to their villages. They has given 6500/ to 10000/ to Indian broker for cross International Boundary. The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals did not provide any information about any other Bangladeshi nationals where they worked.
The apprehended civilians were handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh as a gesture of goodwill as well as humanity.
Yogendra Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion, stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people are getting caught continuously. In view of the seriousness of the crime of those caught, it is handed over to the BGB, Bangladesh as a gesture of goodwill and humanity.
