Troops of BSF Under the South Bengal Frontier, thwarted the plans of the smugglers seized 1098 Phensedyl bottles and also apprehended one Indian smuggler.
According to the statement, the incident took place on 09 August, 2022 at about 2030 hrs in the area of BSF Border Out Post Laxmipur, 107 Battalion, Sector Krishnanagar. The jawans observed the activities of some smugglers in their area of responsibility. The troops apprehended 01 Indian smuggler by conducting a search operation. Total 99 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from the smuggler. The apprehended smuggler has been identified as Salam Biswas, North 24 Parganas.
In the second incident, on 10th August, at about 0145 hrs, BSF Border Out Post Ghojadanga, 153 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, recovered 700 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility.
Apart from that in another incident, on 10th August 2022, at about 0440 hrs, BSF Border Out Post Tentulberia, 158 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, recovered 299 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility. The estimated value of all Phensedyl bottles is 2,25,430/- rupees.
The apprehended smuggler and the seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to Custom Office Ghojadanga, Police Stations Gaighata and Bagdah respectively for further legal action.
Spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over the success of his jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly at 6 that nothing can hide from the eyes of his troops. He also stated that he has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
