The incident took place on 30th August 2022, around 1230 hrs, at village Kutipara (Shikarpur) falling under the area of 86 Battalion. When Anima Ghosh and her son got into an argument along with a fight. Anima Ghosh was badly injured during the scuffle. When the villagers informed the company commander of Border Out Post Shikarpur about the incident. He without delay sent a BSF ambulance along with a nursing assistant to Anima Ghosh’s house. The injured woman was admitted to Karimpur Hospital for treatment. The condition of the woman is said to be fine now.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force and said that if the BSF jawans had not helped at the right time, then something big could have happened.
Shri Surendra Kumar, Commanding Officer of 86 Battalion, patting his jawans on the back, stated that his jawans guard the International Border as well as protect the people with utmost dedication and responsibility. In any untoward incident, the jawans are standing shoulder to shoulder with the people.
