BSF APPREHENDED 01 BANGLADESHI WITH UK CITIZENSHIP ON THE BORDER, HANDED OVER TO BGB AS A GESTURE OF HUMANITY AND GOODWILL.

On September 06, 2022, acting on the basis of reliable information, alert troops of Border Out Post Madhupur and Ranghat, 68 Battalion of Border Security Force detained 01 Bangladeshi with United Kingdom (UK) citizenship while crossing the International Boundary illegally. He is identified as Muhammad Ali (30 years), S/o- Late Ahmed Ali, District- Sylhet (Bangladesh).

During interrogation, Muhammad Ali told that he had gone to the United Kingdom for studies on a visa in 2012 and took citizenship of the same. He further told that on August 10, 2022, he came India from there with a tourist visa and illegally went to Bangladesh to meet his family members. When he was returning back to India from Bangladesh by illegally crossing the Border, he was caught by the alert BSF personnel.

The apprehended person was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh out of humanity and goodwill.

Shri Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along Indo-Bangladesh Border due to which some people are being apprehended. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of the two countries, some of them are handed over to each other.
