INSPECTOR GENERAL IS CHAUHAN, TM TAKES OVER AS THE COMMANDER, COAST GUARD REGION NORTH EAST

Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM took over as the Commander Coast Guard Region(North East), Kolkata, vice Inspector General MV Pathak, PTM,TM, on Wednesday 14 Sep 22. Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan is a 13th Course, Direct Entry Coast Guard officer. The officer is an alumnus of College of Defence Management, Secundrabad and Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration Mussoorie. The flag officer holds a master degree in management science.

During his illustrious career of more than three decades Inspector General Chauhan, has commanded all class of Indian Coast Guard ships. The important shore appointments held by the flag officer include Coast Guard Commander for the state of West Bengal & Gujarat and officer in-charge Coast Guard work-up organization. He has also served as Staff Officer to the Director General Indian Coast Guard. The flag officer is a recipient of ‘Tatrashak Medal’.

On elevation to his flag rank, he was serving as Deputy Director General, Bureau of Naviks at Mumbai, prior to assuming the present assignment.

Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM on taking over said that his priority will be to further consolidate Coast Guard operations at sea, emphasis on human investment management and infrastructure development.
