BSF APPREHENDED A SMUGGLER WITH GOLD WORTH 65 LAKHS ON THE BORDER

On 24th September, 2022, on the basis of reliable inputs, troops of the Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, under the South Bengal Frontier, apprehended a smuggler with 06 gold biscuits. The weight of the seized biscuits is 1.269 kg and the estimated value is 64,59,971/- rupees. When the jawans on duty stopped a person on the bike and searched him, six gold biscuits were found wrapped in transparent tape from the pocket of his pants. The jawans immediately apprehended the smuggler with the confiscated goods and brought him along with seized items to the Border Out Post for further questioning. The apprehended smuggler was identified as Abdur Rehman Moula (33), District North 24 Parganas.

During interrogation, the smuggler revealed that he is involved in such smuggling for a long time. He further revealed that he had taken these biscuits from Muzaffar Dafadar in Swaroopada market and further was going to hand over to Musharraf Sardar in village Dattapara but BSF apprehended him.

The Commanding Officer of the 112 Battalion stated that the BSF is constantly trying to stop smuggling along the Border and it has also got success in this work. Due to which people involved in crimes like smuggling are constantly being apprehended.
